David Hutnyk
CEO & Founder
David started K9ine Security in 2019 with his partner K9 Pepper by his side. After 20 plus years of experience in the industry David saw the need for change. Since 2019, K9ine Security has grown exponentially under David’s leadership. David and K9ine Security currently employ 150 guards, has over 10 vehicles in its fleet, and has trained a total of five canine partners.
Alex Hutnyk
CAO
Alex has been with K9ine Security since the beginning with her husband, David. Alex takes care of the overall daily operations within the office as well as assisting where needed in the field.
Before assisting David with opening K9ine Security, Alex worked in various customer service roles, gaining significant experience dealing with in person and over the phone effective client or customer conversations.
Kayne Finlayson
General Manager
Kayne started with K9ine Security as a mobile patrol guard in September of 2021 after spending a number of years in the Ottawa area working in Municipal Law Enforcement and showing a vast amount of knowledge of the business and industry Kayne was promoted to his current role.
Heather Sandbach
Administration, Marketing & Community Outreach
Heather comes to us with a degree in developmental and behavioural support, as well as certifications in mental health and addictions. Heather started at K9ine Security as a K9 Handler, with her vast knowledge in many different fields she has moved into an office postion. Heather is also in charge of our community outreach programs.
