K9ine Security was founded in 2019, by our CEO, David Hutnyk in the beautiful Municipality of Port Hope, Ontario. At the time, David was working full-time as a security guard, while raising a young family, and volunteering his time at the Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services as a firefighter, but all of that wasn’t enough. You see, up until this point, David had put over 20 years of time into the industry and was tired of feeling like a number, getting inadequate training to set him and his coworkers up to deal with real-word scenarios, and working for companies who didn’t appreciate his time. He realized that there was the potential to change the way security services were offered, how security guards are treated and looked at, as well as how security guards presented themselves and cared for their communities. In 2019, David took all of his learnings and with his partner, K9 Pepper and wife, Alex, K9ine Security was founded.
K9ine Security was founded with all of David’s values and morals in mind: to be different; to respect and care for our communities; to treat employees as human beings, not a number; to change the way security services are offered to ensure assets are ALWAYS protected; and finally, to change the way security guards are trained to ensure safety to all.
When we are asked “who is K9ine Security?” we remember our humble beginnings, where we started and where we are headed. K9ine Security’s mission is to be the best at what we do.
