Meet K9 Tracker

K9 Tracker is a 2-year-old German Shepherd that K9ine Security obtained through a rescue service in December 2021. K9 Tracker came from a sad situation, he was tied up and left in a backyard somewhere in the Durham Region. He was forced to hunt in order to eat, he was severely dehydrated and malnourished. The rescue, Snowflake Meadows contacted K9ine Security after they realized what an amazing dog K9 Tracker was and the potential he showed. Our CEO, David Hutnyk set up an appointment to meet K9 Tracker and almost literally fell in love. As they say, it was “love at first sight”. David ran K9 Tracker through some basic exercises to which the results blew David away. Since then, K9 Tracker spent approximately a year training and mastering all things patrol, scent, and apprehension. Recently, K9 Tracker proved his training was successful and certified in all of the topics he learned. K9 Tracker is currently certified in Obedience (Advanced), Scent (Area search & tracking) and Apprehension (Bite work & bark work). K9 Tracker is the best of boys who is also working through his dog aggression which is a side affect of the treatment he received in his previous home, but he has made HUGE strides and is almost there. K9 Tracker is currently handled by Caleb.

Meet K9 Shadow

K9 Shadow was the next K9 that K9ine Security obtained, again through a rescue service in May 2022. K9 Shadow was found by an animal service after being left to fend for herself as a stray near Keswick, Ontario. K9 Shadow was located running down a rural dirt road, dehydrated and malnourished. Due to K9ine Security’s previous relationship with Snowflake Meadows, we saw that she became available for adoption through their social media and our marketing/ communications manager fell in love. The next day, CEO David Hutnyk and Austin took a drive back to the rescue to meet her. She passed her basic drills and it was a done deal, she was coming home with us! Although K9 Shadow is working through some anxiety due to her previous situation she is also focusing on her obedience training and working towards cadaver training.

Meet K9 Atlas

K9 Atlas is another Shepperd that K9ine Security obtained, again through a rescue. When K9ine Security obtained K9 Atlas he was working through some anxiety and health issues, however, his handler Heather took him in and made him a whole new dog. K9 Atlas shows huge potential to becoming an amazing Patrol K9 and is currently training in obedience, scent detection, and general patrol. When he completes his training and certifies he will be used to located drugs, firearms or other illegal substances for private businesses and schools. He currently works on the road with his handler, Heather, during mobile patrol. He is great at his job and we look forward to seeing him Ace all of his certifications.

Meet K9 Gator

K9 Gator is our newest recruit. He joined our team from a rescue service on August 17th of this year. K9 Gator is an 8-month-old Belgian Shepherd who was found abandoned near Hamilton, Ontario. He was rescued and then sent to our friends at MP Canine Academy as his previous owners did not spend any time training him. His handler, Cam is currently working on continuing his basic obedience training along with scent training and even apprehension training. K9 Gator can be found working on the road with his handler as he progresses in his training. K9 Gator is the funniest of K9’s, but don’t be fooled, he has a loud bark!
